Angela Zheng, Founder of Global Youth Foundation’s Speech & Debate Club

Angela Zheng, a Grade 9 student from Vancouver, has been officially appointed as the Founder of the Speech & Debate Club at Global Youth Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young leaders through global citizenship and community engagement.

Angela received a formal Certificate of Appointment recognizing her exceptional leadership, initiative, and commitment to creating a platform where youth can develop critical thinking, public speaking, and advocacy skills.

The appointment, effective May 15, 2025, celebrates Angela’s vision and determination to encourage dialogue and leadership among youth across Canada and beyond. In the certificate, she is also recognized as a “Leader of Global Youth”—a title that reflects her growing influence as a young changemaker.

“Angela has demonstrated the kind of courage, clarity, and leadership we seek to foster in all our youth programs,” said Alex Wang, Founder of Global Youth Foundation. “We are incredibly proud to support her as she builds a space where students can speak up, debate ideas, and drive change.”

The new Speech & Debate Club will host workshops, student-led events, and cross-cultural dialogues under the Foundation’s global youth empowerment framework. Angela hopes the club will become a launchpad for many future leaders.

As a student passionate about education, public affairs, and equity, Angela is already inspiring peers and educators alike with her determination to create inclusive spaces where youth voices can be heard.
